C.C....
I miss "those sweet hazy days of rapture", and I guess that's why we have memories, to help keep us sane...meanwhile, time marches on and sanity sometimes has a hard time keeping up.....

Re: Reads "old soul" throughout, C.C.! Amazing depth of insight..
When one is really young Katray one has such strong beliefs in a power that blows one's breath away. One ends up gasping sometimes, but that's life I guess. Thank you for your visit.

Re: Corncrake
Well Femia it's nice to age without too much pain. I thought you might have been behind that project, you knew so much about it. Your sister's Grand daughter is a lucky girl having a benevolent Great Aunt or whatever. I guess you were not set up like that, but we can't live in the past can we. You have had a quite extraordinary life, I'm sure you have lots of things to write about and I do value your friendship even if I seem a bit grouchy at times.

Re: Wrote that yesterday, huh?
Wrote it when you were a pretty young lady I expect Justi, no I don't write for books, I don't think there is any money in poetry. Or we would all be Pop stars. Keep those pies popping.

Re:

Hi Shobana Let's put it this way, I can see you as a little baby in your Mother's arms black hair and a little white bonnet. Fumbling my words, well perhaps my one finger typing is working faster than I can cope. I did learn to type correctly but my fingers ached to much I should have persevered I know. Why am I unhappy, well I am not particularly happy or unhappy, just cruising. Well some people make me feel happy and you are one of them.

Your last question, no I don't really like praise, you will be far better than me,

Re: 25
Yes 2092 Bob I remember it well . I felt so old, but then I felt older at thirty. And now I gradually feel younger, heading for my second childhood I guess. I hear the receptionist turn protective when they ask my age gulp do you want someone to come with you for an eye test. No I'll come on my motor bike. Just being silly Bob.

25
I love the poem.  I really can't remember 25 - it gets all smushed together with 22 and 28 and other years.  But I do think of two things.  The first is, I'm sure I thought that at the time being 25 was pretty old.  The second is pretty vivid - I'd just turned 29 and we were sitting around a big table sharing our second pitcher of beer when someone shouted something across the table that I couldn;t make out.  For the first time in my short life I felt bad about that fact and mentioned it afterwards as we crowded onto the sidewalk.  The shouter told me - in a more normal voice - he'd said "29 is young!  You're still a baby!"  But someone else set me straight: when you start worrying about that sort of thing - you're getting old.  So much for the wisdom that comes with age.

Corncrake

As one ages we become like the aged wind of time only getting better as the nice poem.

Thanks for reading about the ship i was the teacher for the neighbor boys and it was a great project. All the boys today have grown to be very sucessful in their business and I still have teaching skills I try to pass on. Now I'm showing two boys how to set ceramic tile and how to install them.  I guess I'll be back writing for today I helped my sister pack the truck she borrowed so she could take her Grand daughter to Chico University. She received a 4year all paid scholarship in the medical field she want to be a pediatrician. So its been very busy lately getting all she needs. I bought her the lateds Toshiba   computer and refrigerator and all the goodies needed for her venture in education. Thanks Mr. MB my friend
