Hey everybody! Thanks for dropping by!
I'm getting ready to head out and have been busy trying to front load for work so I haven't been around much -- but you know it's always great to hear from each and every one of you! Take care!

I just wish cell phones would have caller ID
for anyone who calls, not just who is in your contacts!

Well, Little Bro...
I have to say that my Kindle is about the only technoloical thing I'm crazy about....and I am CRAZY about my Kindle....and anyone who asks me about it will think I'm selling them....right now I have 62 books loaded on mine....I've had it over 18 months and have about 200 books archived at Amazon that I've already read....it has a dictionary on it which I use a lot, and I have the font size zoomed up so that I don't have to use my stupid reading glasses....I carry it in my purse at all times so I never have wasted time wherever I am.  I read multiple books at a time just like I did with paper books.  If I wanted to make "notes in the margin" there's a note option, along with an option to cut and paste sections to reference for reading clubs, etc., to go along with any notes I want to make....I can bookmark and highlight.....but I haven't used any of that stuff....I just read, read, read....usually a book a day now that I'm not working.....and, since the first week, I haven't missed paper one bit. But, I have wondered what will happen to libraries....will they turn into electronic reading rooms and download stations?  I'll never give up my Kindle!  Now, I haven't gotten into reading newspapers on it...or magazines, either.....just books.

I say kudos to accepting technology! I love a good book, too! sam

My Son in Aussie land is encouraging me to do Skype internet

I have almost downloaded it but keep backing away. and I really don't want to read a book off a screen. The new people who own the world can do that. I like to walk around with a book I love the smell of a library....I love to turn a page....write in the margin even.

I am a happy Dinosaur.

strat
you have embraced it well!! I'm all for saving trees and such, but I think we are changing too many things. Call me old fashioned. My wife, and two daughters have the new Kindle, they love it, but what's gonna happen to the shelves in the library?

Mixed feelings here too, Strat..Books will never be obsolete in my house
but then again, I am glad prank calls are....if caller id had been in constant usage when I was a kid though, um, never mind, lol.  Ah, Lewis Grizzard; I have some of his books on my shelf; a terrific writer and wit indeed. Great post!

I don't appreciate technology as much as I probably should.  I mostly hold out for the old ways, with a few exceptions.
