- Go to Summertime

We watched entranced at a PBS station the other night. All the songs and singers from the fifties. Talk about nostalgia - when we save some money we might send away for the DVDS

I can relate..
Though there are songs whose lyrics I've gleaned wisdom from but they weren't really set to a catchy musical score; thinking of 60's songs..just a wondering hippie here, I guess..:)
Good post!

I love this post. I love 'Summertime' it was my favorite or is too.
I love the scene where that was written and played in Charleston, S. C. a really beautiful place. Thanks for reminding me of such beautiful music and times.

That tune is one of the very few I can play with some facility on my clarinet...

I LOVE that song, Summertime. I actually sing it A LOT without even thinking about it. In fact, I was singing it this morning and last night before going to sleep! I learned it in high school in my singing class so many years ago, and I never forgot the song since then!

That tune is going to be in my head for the rest of the day. I love it too - used to sing it to my children when they were little. BC often takes me back to
'in those days' with the music he posts on his blog.
