CC - From the feelings of the elephants gone to the petro taking the cash --- I adore this write.  The feelings expressed show much of the 'ah, but lets get on with it' attitude of the times.  I agree with Helen - I'd miss the 'grass' ~ EE

Thank you for calling. Well Straightforward basically people are no different, they just think they are, of course it is helpful if one has money. Incidently I once watched a young man have a wash as his mother waited for the bowl to make a pudding.

The people who tell Helen that time will fly after she meets a boy are correct. Helen is hearing and learning a lot along the way.

No matter how one scrubbed their feet and legs

the sand was always in the beds.
