Thanks for the warning - I'll be watching my wine if dogs are partial to it!

The priest must be one of those guys who practice "Vegetarianism." Mal

Dog Receives Communion…
IMO the dog suffered the dry wafer just to get some more booze.  But, what I want to know is:  Did the dog go to confession first?  And who heard it, a St. Bernard?  joab

hmmm...I guess I don't understand the hoopla --- you see my dog has a soul - and if need be communion then there ya' go.  Cannot imagine the offense...(after seeing some of the parishioners that drink from the same cup ) Elyse

People often take their dogs to inappropriate places for the dog's
welfare, like the crowded farmers' market where people, young children and other dogs are crammed into a small area -- there's bound to be trouble. It seems the height of sillyness to take a dog to church, and while the priest is right to encourage people, offering communion to a dog is ridiculous. There are special occasions, blessing of the animals, etc. that are spirit-building. This wasn't one of them.

Nautikos

{ Most Christian churches believe that animals don’t need it. They’re open to the belief that animals will be in heaven. Since they don’t have souls I guess that this would be after the Resurrection. BC-A, Bill’s RJLst

The dog should have crossed his paws and then he would have been blessed and the one offended would have nothing to bark about! LOL!

Naut! BTW, my youngest son that is a hydrographer is getting his captain's license so that he can charter fishing on the Great Lakes for up to 6 people! Should I get you a free ride when the time comes?! He would do it for me and you would love to yak with him! He educates me with every conversation; he has done that all his life! It is amazing the different things he knows and so in depth, too! Then his company got a contract to map the inland waterways in the US! How exciting for a young kid! He was talking a 100 miles an hour [about 160km (I know you knew this, I just wanted to know it for myself and so I am sharing it, lol on me)] it seemed when he called tonight! Shelly

Just when I thought I heard it all.

I saw on the Opera show a while ago that this girl had a wedding ceremoney with the Eifel Tower. But I dont believe a priest did it.

I am amazed at the enlightening level of development we have reached on one side, and to counter that the amazing devolving humanity to the lowest lows. I guess you can't get one without the other.

Quite the interesting gesture made to welcome someone...I myself skip the wine. Too many germs if you ask me.

I just don't fancy sipping wine that the doggie has slurped upwith his
tongue.
