Oh my, the withdrawal would be horrendous! But like Kabu -I would manage for the everyday things.. I can count without a computer, I can write letters too...LOL!

Yeah, it would be good to brainstorm about that one. Technology has left us helpless without it. Part of an evil scheme, perhaps? One can't help but wonder. People don't even know how to sew their own clothes anymore, for crying out loud. And ask a kid to make pancakes without Bisquick? Impossible! We really, really need to get back to basics, or at least have a knowledge of them; I agree completely.

FSI, I totally agree....we would be in deep trouble if a massive internet
failure happened...and if one's personal computer crashes, its like "how much is 2+3??".....

I agree...we need alternatives...When my computer has issues, I count
on my Blackberry to check emails and texts...neither devices are too far away.

I've been in these situations where the computer failed me...and apart from
the dependency, i guess there is an addiction component, as I get absolutely irritable and restless also with the comp or internet not working.

We are truly dependent! I think it is sad that the art of writing letters has gone by the wayside! sam

FS do you think blogging is compulsive, why do we have this sudden need to communicate  via our computers to personalities that we form from our own experiences, well unless one is brave enough to provide a photo.  Perchance we can feel friendly towards someone whom we would not normally approach and sometimes we may feel resentful towards someone who we would probably find delightful as a neighbor. Why have I got two computers and keep grumbling about the one that keeps plodding on but has nice little touches. Why am I writing this longer blog, because I missed your writing last week and felt guilty. Why did women chat over the garden fence. Please don't think this needs an answer. C.C.

it's truth dear FSI - and about cell phones as well...

I literally had to calm myself down the other day realizing I had left my cell phone at home.  Hmmm...I thought - what did I do before having a phone with me always.  I enjoyed the silence for a bit is what I did.  This is a good thought you bring.  Elyse
