- Go to Banning of burqas now in Spain...
However...
If you go to "Burqua-land" they force women to cover up or they are highly offended. Call me an old fart, but I am offended by Burquas over here then. I don't know if it's worth banning them but I say tit-for-tat.

Re: myself
What I mean is not being able to say so with authority though I have an idea as to how I feel.

I cannot say that I know enough to say either way. I can certainly see both sides to the argument though I myself am not too keen on them. The thing though is that I am afraid that no amount of secular or for that matter non-Islamic legislation is going to help. Change is going to have to come from within the Islamic community.

My views are strong on this...
The
wearing of the burqua in
public places should be banned for several reasons. Its not about the freedom to wear a certain clothing but what that clothing symbolises. The big one is that it speaks of the oppressive control of man over woman and it insults her femininity.
