Indeed, very good to have avoided that decision! Why did the man have to be such an ogre and tear the cars in half! So cruel! It brought memories of childhood for me too! Wonderful story in poetic form! sam

I can remember going off to school real happy only to be made miserable
and my life ruined forever...or at least until I had sobbed it into Mother's apron.....So you think there is a part of Fred in his Granddaughter do you?????except I was always scared when I rode a horse, Unfortunately I never knew Fred...he died when my Father was about 11, about three years after his own Mother died.

Man, does that bring back memories!  No wonder that you hated school (if I remember rightly), but it didn't seem to have interfered with your education!  Being a graduate of Catholic  elementary AND secondary schools in the 40's and 50's, I thought Corporal Punishment was a school administrator I hadn't met yet.  You caught the emotions of those times very well, but I forgive you.

Some people cannot look at a kindness such as the gentleman when he bought the candy for the children.  Without thinking there is an alternative meaning./LB
