Isn't that the way of it Bob, yes I guess so, we are not perfect and have to forgive ourselves at times, I'm sure Verne would smile

c.c.  I have always said that we never truly die and live on in the memories of others.  So many people say put the past behind but without the past there is no future.  My great losses have stayed by my side and I treasure the memories they have gifted to me.  Well done and thanks for your visit.

It is the same house we want to buy so we are renting it for now until all the paperwork and legalities are in order. spid

CORNCRAKE!!!!! This is a marvelous piece! Wow! I am nearly loss for words! Just a masterpiece! I think I appreciate it more having read it after listening Randall Jarrell, an American poet; he is not necessarily on the same wavelength but it talked of memories and it's about family, but more about life as with your poem! I would think you would love his style for it is so up your alley so to speak. I have a book called Poetry Speaks and CD's accompany it and the poets read their work. But, here is a link to Jarrell's poem Seele im Raum  and I think you will agree that this piece rivals the one he has written. Just a fine read! And than k you for thinking of me, it warmed my heart so. sam

The memories have such an incredible influence all those years later and were written in such a way that they have the feeling of having just happened yesterday.

I love it...you have kept all these people all these events alive in your
mind and your heart. Oh the taste of stolen fruit better than any bought for a farthing.

Yes, isn't that the way of it!  And my buddy Verne is still in my mind in Baltimore, waiting for the call I never returned.  And he was a good friend.
