is the wide-spread phenomenon of the (often very militant) 'true believer', which Eric Hoffer wrote so insightful about 60 years ago in his book by that title...

The thing that always gets me

Great Post Strat...but then they always are. There must be UFO'S or
perhaps my Gnomes are real after all. I tried 3 times today to read here, and each time I was called away beforeI got started.This is try no.4. Something has been stopping me.
I like the thought of the cigar man on your shoulder.......it doesn't make sense to me that there isn't some form of life anywhere else in the Universe........but how it has evolved, what it is ....I don't expect to ever know. Look up at the stars some beautiful cloudless night..... it's very lonely to think we may be the only life anywhere ever. Makes me have to go and cuddle the cat.
