Are we really going to have to insert computer chips in our children to keep them safe? I am overjoyed this did not end in disaster, but hate to think of what that family, and many others, have endured.

This is my biggest fear with Rowan, she talks to everyone, feels the need to introduce herself, say hi and start a conversation to everyone that comes within 5 feet of her. If she likes the look of someone, she'll hug them. Inasmuch as I don't want to curb her social and outgoing nature, I do want her to have reasonable caution without making her fear everyone and everything.

Re: krisles, her g-daughter is 4, and this story freaked her out...
It's a tough world, and vigilance is necessary. Little girls have a tough time of it, but this one got lucky this time. I imagine this will be featured on Nancy Grace on the CNN affiliate again tonight. Too bad we can't all be such wonderful parents and role models that nobody's children would ever grow up to be dangerous to others. Hug that grandbaby...

My youngest g-daughter is 4 and the minute I heard this story I started picturing Lila and some pervert putting his hands on her.....I couldn't get the thoughts out of my head and words won't even describe how they made me feel so I can't even imagine how the reality of those hours were for her family. They were soooo lucky that (evidently) the quick response of the media broadcasting the description - and you're right about the brother's help -evidently gave the guy second thoughts. Unfortunately, this isn't the usual outcome and we, as a society have got to find a better way of dealing with this problem.....I don't know what the answer is but our children are too precious not to keep searching for and trying solutions.

What's wrong with people!!!!!
I saw that grandma on the news begging and pleading and I couldn't stand the thought that some weirdo had the little one. Thank God that at least she is alive.
