So frightening for you.....but you wake up.
It's been a while since I've had a scary dream. I'll sometimes have one when there's a lot on my mind. There's usually someone bad in that kind of dream, and I can't wake up and get away from them. But of course I do wake up, and yes in a sweat and if anyone's near by when I've awakened they hear me yell or holler something. I've had bad dreams too where I feel like someone's watching me.

I hit "post" before I meant to. I just wanted to add that your entrance into sleep is much scarier than mine, but it seems similar in the fact that we can't control what's happening, and it scares us. I think that might be close to the root of the ordeals.

Falling asleep
Every single night, I fall when I am falling asleep. Sometimes I dream in that half-state that I am falling down stairs, sometimes it's off of a cliff, a bridge, simply falling over something on the floor-it's always unexpected, no matter how hard I try to anticipate it when I close my eyes. I have heard many different analysis for this, and I don't believe any of them. I have no fear of heights, and have willing jumped off of many high places before, but jumping is an essentially different sensation than falling. After that, the dreams are not always bad. Sometimes I have nightmares, a lot of times I dream very vividly and remember them, but I love to sleep and I like to dream.
