Nautikos - It also fosters better understanding among the various countries while the rivalry can actually cause a political upheaval..LOL  How intriguing about the song. Well this time round Germany is looking mean and strong.

yes and when Lancashire and Yorkshire play each other either
at Soccer ot Cricket...they fight the wars of the Roses fromthe 15th century each time allover again. Australia had a team in the cup too....and New Zealand. We did OK. ...but my fave code is Australian football.....family tradition...three generations of plauers and all that ...and it is a great game.

This post conveys to me that this tournament is more than just a tournament to most of the world. It becomes another outlet for people to express their views on other nations and the like.

This was a really neat post, and I look forward to seeing the f/u.  Funny, I just watched the men's final at Wimbledon....and last night while at the only "pub" in my neighborhood, some guys paid the fee to watch an "ultimate fighting" match on the tube and were enthralled while the women at the bar made fun of them.....so I've had more sports in my brain in the last 24 hrs than I usually have in....ummmm, maybe a year???!!!!  Well, close to......  Anyway, my gray matter is soaked!!!!!!
