This is why you can be a nurse, and I couldn't.
I have no patience for the wheel... Not on a regular basis, anyway!
But I will say, for those of us on the gurney or otherwise on the receiving end of care, a nurse with humor, patience and compassion goes a long, long way to easing fears, and learning even to listen, and hear, and if nurses like you weren't there to counter the abrasive and arrogant, many who need care would not dare to seek it. Or they would come in already defensive and cocooned in their own notions.
