Re: CORNCRAKE
I do agree with you Wiley, and some of the greats wrote in simple English. I suppose one could go too far down that path and just appear banal. Well I cut my grass yesterday as it was hot it took one and a half hours, my face was pretty rosy, so I had to do a few simple jobs to calm down, that's the trouble of growing younger, I used to have a man to cut it.Anyway I took my blood pressure and it was OK, I hope its not some thing in the water I managed to get 12 bottles of Scottish water half price. We always filter ours, I guess yours is pretty good, not been through the old, well lets be delicate, although ours comes from the Cotswolds, but I like to filter, you don't know what the fish have been up to these days.      Ps I would love a small tractor but I have too many  odd bits and will finish off with a strimmer when it is cooler.

Yes FS those were the days when children could wander freely and enjoy simple things in child hood. Thank you for calling.

So many things going on outside in the scene that you portray. I would like to be there to see them for myself.

CORNCRAKE
Now that was a most beautiful poem that I had no trouble understanding and enjoying to the extreme. Why, it even stirred happy memories for me without the need for me to think too hard. That is the kind of writing I can handle, a simplicity all by itself. Maybe that's why I only made it to the 8th grade and don't even understand that stupid word we see so often in Blogit---imagery? If I want to only imagine something, I'll just do it and not use it as a word of praise like; 'How wonderful, you imagine poetry so well.' LOL Oh I'm sorry, it's raining and I can't work outside today.
