I've met so-called educated people who haven't even heard the word "Gita"..
let alone the infinite wisdom in that masterpiece. It's a noble endeavor to attempt to bring some of that in simple English..hopefully it'll spread..keep it up aba! - Ash

I have the feeling that it is wise to satisfy the materialistic nature we possess as quickly as possible so that we can concentrate on becoming the oneness with God! It seems we fall very short of this mark and the result is unhappiness! I have things, but they are just things to me and I can part with them without remorse! In fact, I have left and discarded many things in my life just to get rid of the clutter it presents, both in physical and spiritual! The quicker I become happy with what I have as far as my lot in life the more time I have to focus on the spiritual portion of it! Of all the material things I have had throughout my life they have never fulfilled me as my much as my relationship has with God! I have been a model for my children to not get involved or allow anything to get in the way of my relationship with God! Thus, if something is broken or gets stolen it is of little importance! And by the same token I would be utterly lost if I were to break my association with God! I try to stay focused on Him throughout each waking moment! As we advance as a society of people I believe  we lose the basic fundamental of revering the Lord! It reminds me of the molten image in the Old Testament of Holy Bible! It came to me as I was reading about demigods in your brilliant essay! I have always been of the belief that we can have whatever we want so long as it not not interrupt or replace the worship of the Lord! And, you made an excellent point with the Rockefellers of the world, materialism can never bring about the wealth that the Lord has for us to partake of! It is about understand bliss in the present moment and I believe that can only happen when we focus on the oneness of the Lord! I think the ancients were more in tune than we will ever be because I have noticed that many equate their happiness as it relates to their material possessions and their perceived stature in life! Woe to them for they are missing the proverbial boat, indeed! You got me thinking and that is what I appreciate so much in your posts! Shelly

Hi abaneriee, I am slowly getting the shake down on your writing. I don't pretend to understand the mythology part, but some things you write are so probably true such as are we the first civilization? I mean time is nothing to the universe and wars may have advanced our own position etc. I'm not an intellect unfortunately.

Kabu
They were culturally far ahead, You know everything is cyclic. There were meny, many civilizatons in the past which became extinct. They reached their peak and the came to the lowest point, from where the progress and development began. So we are just at a point in the circle yet to touch our peaks. We are at such a stage that any fool can destroy the world sixty times over at the mere press of a button. Thank you so much for your keen readership.

Bother...I wrote a great comment because I love this post and then didn't
post it. sigh. Basically thank you for an easy toread and understand post...I love the concept you present of Man made in God's image......I love the animal, huma, divine aspects of man and I agree that the ancients were closer to the truth than many modern teachers.
