I look around my home and at our land so lovingly tended with our garden
spots and woods and grass, the wild flowers beginning to bloom in competition with the cultivted flowers. I find find all this beauty and comfort......yes some of it to some one else, they may call it clutter....... is ....well the only way I can describe it is Spiritual food. I don't beelieve that I have ever been asked to give away all earthly desires pleasures and comforts.....this has always been a provokation for me. Am I pleasing myself...or living the life that God wishes me to. ......You have me struggling along with thoughts here my friend. and it is wonderful that you are working on Sanskript....such an ancient part of the human experience how awful for it to become lost in this crazy world welive in today....a world where we really need to stop and take a look at the greed and selfishness displayed the concentration on satisfying our own ego at the expense of whoever gets in our way.
Oh I must stop, I am writing a blog.

'Desire – which in itself is an insatiable fire. I thought this to be very powerful! How we do battle with ourselves before we come to terms with needs to be done! The ego is fragile and yet it can be a sword that cuts us up, too! And, we have to always be mindful of our station in life, as it was so eloquently put that he could not run away and be comfortable with mere alms. I think that is a clue, too for arresting the ego in the hopes of reaching the divine level without inhibiting the new order so to speak. And that portion within, for me it is the Lord's Spirit, but nonetheless it is powerful and can help put anything in perspective if we are attune and once again, to get this understanding one has to shun, or shed his ego! I just wrote a poem last night entertaining desire! It is difficult to quench it once it has its hold on a person! Well written essay, too! sam

I've heard the phrase "Imitation is Suicide". Trying to follow the tribe will only lead to problems. I am actually reading a book about that right now, called 'Sacred Choices'...getting rid of 'tribal beliefs' as in family and friends' opinions of who you should be. A very helpful book, I must say.
Abanerjee, I wanted to invite you to visit me at Twitter at http://twitter.com/SnakeRiverStmpd/blogaroos where I'm doing the rodeo reporting. I thought it would be amazing to be able to take my Blogit friends along for the ride. Thank you so much for your congratulations and for your kind words of encouragement. This introverted/extroverted writer (does that make me bipolar....eek!) needs a nudge or two every now and then and you've provided that wonderfully well.
