Amen! I ride my bike all over Boise and it is a bike friendly town, too! I wish more folks would take up riding, it is so enjoyable! I thought it was fantastic to read about the couple dressed to the 'nines' and riding! I would have on a pant suit and ride to church but now I have gone to casual attire. I wonder if I got stare, now! lol It is still a fun way to get around! I love to take my mini Penny Farthing out, I turn heads when I am on it! I see them looking at me! sam

I never knew that, Guy, but it makes sense.

If you can ride a hundred miles in half a day and no one can see or hear you, that's a huge advantage. The only fuel it really needs is MREs, I guess.

McDonald's may save the free world yet...

No doubt, Timmy.
I love my bike. I always thought I hated opera, although the last one I went to before this one was pretty much at gunpoint at age 16. We all change. I really enjoyed it.

Bicycle is one of the MOST effective, mechanical force multipliers, 6 to 1
The Japanese army sucessfully invaded the Philippines and most of the South Pacific islands down beaches, one-lane pathways through jungles, marshes, and dunes, swiftly, silently, efficiently, and free from concerns over stealth, fuel, maintenance, traffic control, routing, etc. solely because each invading soldier was issued his own bicycle, and was trained how to repair the bike, just as he was trained to clean his weapon. When the tires could no longer be repaired, the soldiers quickly became proficient in riding on the rims. Our only hope for a future free from domination by Asian dictatorship, is that Americans begin riding bicycles more and more, and the Chinese, begin taking their newfound wealth and buying cars, eating ai McMao-nald's getting fat and sassy, and then maybe we can have a fair fight.
