Why is it that the embarrassing or wrong things we do seem to stay in our "memory book" longer than all the good things we've done??? Somebody hand us an eraser, please.

New Comment on Social Faux Pas
Darson, a "Social Faux Pas" is the social summit to which one can aspire.  It is guaranteed a place in the "book of memories".j

I wouldn't worry! After all, as a pastor he's probably a good Christian, and he has to forgive you...

Hello Darson
I was reminded of the many slip and trip moments I got myself into, my behavior was , so to say, quite unchestened, or unbaptised? Then I went into silence for a long time, spoke only if necessary, otherwise not at all. The gap between emotions and their reactions distanced, I learnt a lot...lol.

I have a flash for you. If you felt it was acceptable to do what you did, to say what you said at the time rather than to feel badly because it was before the preacher it is okay to have done it. You see you did not surprise God. He is the only one you have to watch out about what you do, think, be or think of ever bing. Rusty may be a really good man, Godly man but he is not God. You are such a good woman. Just talk with God about this if it bothers you, not anyone else.

We all need some such thing to humble us now and then.

I find it fascinating how people can reenter our lives and in doing so will surprise us along the way.

I think the politician would be lucky if all he got in his career
were a couple thumbs down and a bit of heckling. As for the pastor, no doubt he had a different career before he was offered a pulpit, perhaps a colorful one. He has no doubt seen a great many people who've made bigger social blunders than you ever thought of. And you clearly learned from it.

You sweetie, thank you for writing that. I know He has....! Now I'm just working on forgiving myself...that part can take a bit longer. Weirdly, right after I reacted in that adverse way to that politician, I was already surprised and chastising myself, feeling somewhat embarrassed. I've learned a good lesson and won't do that again. Besides, that guy didn't make it past the election. Although, he keeps resurfacing so I'll have to do some repenting for sure, either way.

Lol!  Not to worry, Darson...God has already forgiven you...and so too, will Rusty.
