I noticed the smoke from your fires in the early morning photos of Boston today.
Are you still waiting for baby?

I too am grateful for the rain! Everything was starting to be rather dried up around here! No food for the cattle, the rhubarb in flowers before getting big enough to cut, the grass yellow,....Ouf, finally raining!

I used to hate the ultimate destruction of forest fires.
When I lived in the Cascade foothills there were forests all around. I loved the green of them, the spiky trees in all the mountain profiles. It made me mad to see the burns, even moreso to see the clearcutting -- the loggers should take the ones they want and leave the rest, not skin the mountain and leave it vulnerable to erosion. But then where men are after money, they say to hell with nature, like the open pit mine owners, and those who drill for oil. So let it rain.
