Mariposa
Sounds like a good time but I got nervous just reading so many people in one place to sleep, eat, shower and survive. I wish I could do that gracefully. I am so glad it all turned out well. Be blessed dear one.

That was a great idea to collect the deposits for your subscription! I think it is better to remember folks when they were healthy, too! And I am with you, a large gathering is nice but one never seems to get enough time to visit with all! I like listening to the rain on a tent, too! sam

mariposa, I used to camp a lot when my kids were small. Loved it, and enjoyed reading about your family get together.

I remember sleeping in a tent during a couple of school fieldtrips. I have no idea who based the size of being able to sleep four! I felt claustrophobic too and ended up in my father's truck.
I would like to express my condolences with regard to the recent passing of your aunt.

Re: lustorlove
On a longer camp-out I prefer a trailer, 5th wheel... When my husband worked in the woods we once camped for over a month with a trailer. It was not easy with 3 little children though, but the memories are great (now).

Re: Corbin_Dallas
We have a 5 cents deposit on each water bottle, pop, beer can. Not wine, gatorade or ice tea though. It's a hassle to return them, but I hate seeing them thrown away when they can be recycled. Oregon has a reputation for clean highways.

Is there a deposit/ tax on each can? I know some states do that to encourage people to recycle them......I almost wish we had that it would sure help keep the roadsides a bit cleaner!
Sounds like over all, you had a good time!

sounds like you had fun, too bad about your aunt. Personally I never liked camping out, we had a Winibago, and that was as rough as I wanted to get
