point being -- BP runs the show

no president would have done differently -- anyone would have been a vassal of BP just as Obama is.

why don't you look up the $ Big Oil has contributed to political campaigns -- both parties.

Doesn't all work and no play make Jack a dull boy?

This is far above and beyond a privete busines matter......
It is a national matter.  The Saudis have experience with spills of this nature...they bring in tankers and suck it up separating oil from water.

Does this man even  look Presidential?

Listen to these two oil industry experts discussing what has gone wrong.......

Corbin, I don't get any of it. First everyone wants the president to stay

out of private industry and now that we have this crisis from the private oil company, they expect the president to fix it?   Eh, one may not be an Obama fan, but what do we expect him to do? Put on a wet suit and go perform a miracle?

If anything, this shows us we need new technologies for energy hungry consumers. Oil is archaic and an environmental hazard.  I feel most sorry for our ecosystem and the animal life in the region.

And all the while BP was saying it's not all that serious.

and you know e can trust BP.

I guess you are saying another man would have done differently.

But you probably think Republicans aren't in the employ of Big Oil.

Maybe  you expect Obama to be down within the first hour and plugging up the oil leak himself.

I will agree that dragging the heels is bad.  Again, he was depending on BP to solve the problem.  Giving them a chance.

He probably should have kept abreast of the situation and, probably about 5 days into it, should have had the Gov't take over.

But if the Coast Guard takes orders from BP officials, then we understand how powerful they are.  Remember they took over Amoco, a descendant of what was once the most powerful oil co. in the U.S.
