The court system and court cases have always fascinated me.  I didn't even mind serving on a jury (to get away from work for a while of course).

PatB
A great post and I sat today and read my paper without even making it to church, I'm on antibiotics after my 'procedure' on Friday and not very peppy.

I sat in the shade of a tree next to the courthouse on Saturday morning, sipping my first iced latte of the summer and watching the passing parade. Little vignettes of families interacting. As I skimmed the paper -- picking up the stories of greed and deception, I could hear birds singing and the guy playing a guitar around the corner at the farmers' market in the courthouse square -- a regular movie scene complete with mood music.

I JUST adore you, Pat !!!

Fortunately I've never been called for jury duty. I think I would pull a Corbin and, for first selection, wear some kind of T-shirt stating an anti-system message.

Have been catching up on posts, Pat-B, and it seems my black day was making the rounds. Don't let it fool you. If one thing is certain, it's that you are a TERRIFIC writer; no matter the subject you choose, you have a way of putting words together to make it all interesting and a great read. I don't always comment here, but I for sure read, even if a few days later. Other things may not be coming together for you right now, but your writing sure isn't one of them.

Do you get called for jury duty very often?
When I lived in Lexington....for about a 15 month stretch, I was being called every 3 months......it's difficult when you own a travel business and have to be out of town for weeks at a time......I like being a juror but when it come to family matters or minor things...I had to find a way to get out in the first wave of rejections.....I always sat on the front row...and wore a Rush Limbaugh shirt.....I was always in the first 3 out the door because of the defense attorneys' rejection.......
