Missing you, Azur.
And I'm so sorry to hear about Flossy, but so glad to read that you are finding work even during these tough times.  Hope to hear from you soon.

Oh, Azur...I am so sad reading this.  What a terrible thing to have happen to a beloved pet.  My friend and I are dealing with the sad reality that very soon, our oldest cat will go to the vet and not come home.

Thank you for visiting my blog again.  I am sorry it has been so long since I've returned the kindness.

Azur
I'm sure the boys will remember that afternoon for ever, and when they grow older they will shudder at what they might have done.

Such a tragic time for you all, and how symbolic of your daughter to lay flowers. I think an act like that really helps the grieving process. Wht a time you've had of it!

your sorrow dredged mine. I should have walked my Brasilian dog

Pouco back to the house, but I was late and ran to the bus, she followed, I'm sure and ran into the street and was killed. Mom and I found her on a walk later that day and had no words, were just emptied of all joy on Earth. I knew that I should have walked her back home and locked her inside.

I am so sorry for your little family's loss, so very sorry. The pain goes on for quite awhile, no?

So glad that you got away to the sea. Hoping that all that you do comes together and forms some mountain of happiness for you sometime soon.

Mountains..............

Pets are a part of family and are grieved in the same way
as any other family member.  It was good for those children to see that in you.
Perhaps it will make a real difference in their lives.

it is difficult to handle loss, but you handled it greatly.

Azur
I'm so sorry about your little cat - losing a pet always leaves a gaping hole in our lives that takes a long time to close...And Pat is right: you handled that situation with the boys admirably...

Lucky those little boys, on the verge of savagery, were saved from
some "Lord of The Flies" initiation by your civilized words and grief. They might have taken a double-dog dare just to avoid looking weak in front of their buddies but you gave them a graceful way out.  I'm so sorry about your cat. I still miss mine, who was named Miss Kitty after the saloon owner friend of Marshal Matt Dillon. I love the way you told this story.

Oh my goodness! My mouth was a gape and unable to close! I am so very sorry! It had to be a shock! The things kids will dare each other to do! My goodness! I quite agree that a lot of writing can go on in the head when we are removed from the tasks at hand! I was pleased to read that you got away, too! I know you needed it! sam
