Here in East Texas, we have sandy ground and plenty of fleas. I pick up flea collars from the vet. The collars are a bit more expensive than the ones at the store, but more than worth it. I never see fleas on my cat or dogs, and the dogs stay outside. No muss, no fuss.

Before that protection arrived. I used to have to bath my old cat
in Australia...wellshe wasn't old then and we were both very wet very cross and very exhausted at the end. But the fleas were dead.
