I was partly inspired by a dream, in which there was a little boy clinging to the waters; (he was curled up on his side, his hands almost holding onto the stream like a baby blanket, resting on the bank.) also Rowan, the little autistic boy who stars in the true story
Horse Boy, about a father's quest to heal his son, and how shamanic healing and horses combine to create a miracle for Rowan, in the uncharted and wild land of Mongolia--It's an amazing book.
