I tend to agree with you
but at least they are scrapping some of the last government's more overtly tyrannical measures.  That's a good start

I have learned in the twenty-four years that I have been on this rock that the more things change the more they stay the same. I think whoever said that quote had politics in mind.

Good starts from good hearts
take a running leap into the fray, the swamp, the ocean... Go like the dickens until inertia of the old and established succeeds in dragging the new into the same levels as the old...  hence the need for the next New Start...!

Tis the same everywhere I find. Gov.looks after themselves.....top of the
dung heap.....that's what they are everywhere. I was so idealistic once. Great post and I always wanted to see the Liberalsin the UK  have a bit of a voice although 4 cabinette seats does seem a lot of sucking up to me....not a good start perhaps!
