Re:
I hope the new medication is better Sam and starting from scratch hopefully there are no side-effects. It warms my heart to see you too Sam. Love you.

A safe escape tell me impending freedom is not far off! Wonderful imagery, too! I am a little slow these last two days! I went to the doctor today and now my whole medication plan has been changed! A basically start from scratch thing! Love you my Shobana and thanks for stopping in, it warms my heart when I see you! Your sam

The amount of hope with this really sticks out to me.

This is such a pertinent poem - and particularly sad today in the wake of the air crash in Libya. I feel for that one little Durch boy who is the only survivor. He really will need to reach for the stars.

"A safe escape" tells a different story to everyone who reads this poem.  The background  of each reader propels each mind and memory into a different vivid image.

Shobana
There  are times I simply don't understand poetry, perhaps my own mind fires off like  shooting stars and I don't have the ability to translate another persons creativity.

Such vivid images
It's almost like the beginning of a sequence in a film where they show the edges of a catastrophic event and leave the viewer to picture the rest

Forty Stars

I was wondering why this works Shobana and I think it is the imagery it portrays.

You jump from image to image with your eyes open and we look and see the result. This means well done, it is not easy to write every day. I liked the stars and the river images. I remember suddenly why I am talking of images, well I can't change it now.

You paint such lovely pictures through words! Thanks very much for your comment, and now I'm waiting for your visit so we can go there together, and see the herds of wild elephants!

shobana, i think it is all one trip, everything common elements.  the 40 stars might be people or windows, the sprinkles the contrails, the wishing is over because a decision is made and she's on her way.  a river overflowing its banks is the love she left behind, all the rest seems to fit.  but whether it is one meaning or many it is a pretty poem and i'd like to put it to music.  Think Zombies' 'she's not there" meets Kenny Rogers' "just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in" smoothed out by Peter, Paul & Mary's version of "the first time ever i saw your face".  Might work.
