Thank you so much for the Turkish rug, my darling Grandmummy. I've put it in the large sitting room just in front of the fireplace. It looks so inviting there! The artist was very talented indeed. The patterns on the rug look just like falling leaves....
Yes, come to me in France anytime between the end of July and mid-August. We'll go for long walks and visit the shops and the cafes. Drink tea and coffee and admire all the handsome waiters.
Marianna and Max will love you too, just as I do.
Back at home, we'll make up stories for them and each other. I love you.

I have just bought you a lovely red Turkish rug...very old ...the artists
signature is woven into the edge.....it's just a little worn looking...perfect for your Avingnon house ....it was very expensive but where you are concerned beloved Granddaughter I do not begruge the expense.
I will visit you in France late summer time just before the leaves begin to fall......when the weather still holds that soft warmth and we can bathe in the lake.
