A lovely, slightly sad tribute.  He sounds like a memorable, heart-warming man.

I doubt that this is the way that I'll check out.
Cricket,
I expect to be figuratively dragged away, kicking and fighting. I have seen those who are frankly tired of enduring the daily struggle of life, and claim that they are looking forward to death. I wonder if they have a change of mind, as the moment approaches. Has the reality of just HOW VERY, VERY, VERY, LONG we will be dead, made living look a whole lot better? I would have to be suffering through terrible pain and unrelenting agony, to just go calmly into that long, dark, and endless night, willingly.

Well done my Cricket! A beautiful rendition of the circle of life! And I loved the cadence, rhyme and presentation of the poem! Almost as much as I love you! This is truly fabulous! sammie xoxoxooxo

It's a great idea to think about: leaving this life with the echo of
children's laughter in your ears. But my morbid mind immediately leaped to the stunning discovery by those kids that the old man isn't just sleeping.

Life can pass someone by quite quickly...I am so glad that he got to end on the note of thinking about laughter.
