I commend your post.
Only . . . this has generally been the psychology of education for centuries.  The teacher is always right, even when he is obviously wrong, and any disagreement becomes disobedience and possible revolution.

People, though, should disagree only when they are known to be correct.

Or, as Davey Crockett once said, "KNOW YOU'RE RIGHT;  then go ahead."

I read somewhere that the early monaechies is the Orient sed to gather the entire school to a central location, tell the students that when the curtain opened they would be face to face with the emperor himself, and to not gazr upon him.  Then everyone was told to cover their faces while the curtain opened.  Teachers walked around taking note of any student who dared look/  These were the potential radicals and they were separated out and sent to re-education schools.  The objective is flawed, as you state, because curiosity alone does not equal out right defiance, it can lead to wholesone learning.  Good post.
