So good to be 'home'

Going home again, ain't always as good as it is cracked up to be, I'm sure.
Of all the parts of this, our big ol' country that I have never graced with my presence, Louisiana is one that I most would like to experience, for a nice long visit. Were it not for the summertime temperatures and man-killing humidity that can be felt, tasted, and cut with a knife, I might consider living there, because I am a country boy at heart, and the people of Louisiana strike me as utterly fascinating. I understand that we yankees are viewed with suspicion, this is understandable because we are generally pretty hard to take, but some few of us are easy-going, genuine, friendly, down-to-earth people. After a few years, we can even grow on you, like moss. I'd sure like to try the food, the hunting and fishing, and the music and culture of the bayous some day before I die, anyway.
