I am lucky that I have a wonderful motivator:
it's a cross between stubbornness and good humour but it keeps me writing even when I don't feel like it

I quite agree with personal satisfaction; I just don't leave it alone when it is finished! I guess they are truly never finished, only abandoned! sam
