But the present policies of Israel toward Palestinians
help to perpetuate the violence.
In so many ways Palestinians are treated as third class citizens, with restrictions even among moderates that none of us would tolerate.
A fair Israel is a strong Israel. An Israel whose policies resemble near tyranny will continue to foment bad relations among its neighbors and will be weak.

I just have to add, so here I am in the middle of moving and I had to
sneak in here. I watched with great sadness as the israeli community around here not only voted for Obama with cheers and baloons, they danced in the street when he won. I really wonder if they will ever wake up, but perhaps one day when they knock on their door, they may say.....

I just saw a poll where the American Jews are giving our "Fearless Leader" the same poll numbers as election time.....unbelievable.

I agree with you Naut in that we as Americans have not learned the importance of Israel for us I hope we do before its too late for her and for us. Great post xoxoxo

It doesn't seem that the majority does realize the cultural importance. Even those on the Right would see it more from a strategic POV.

I know that Israel is fundamental to my beliefs! It is rather scary the canary symbolism! Once the canary is gone the poison will fill the shaft of humanity! Shelly
