What I've written is history. Period.

Jews enloyed great status in Muslim Spain before Ferdinand and Isabella.

Orthodox churches have enjoyed great protection under Muslim rule.

In Jerusalem, we have the Church of the Hohly Sepulcher, which has existed for centuries under Muslim rule -- and the Church of the Nativity.

And Christians have made pilgrimages there for hundreds of years, to celebrate holy days, and participatein the Via Dolorosa.

If Mohammedanism were as you want to typify it as being, these things would not exist.

Also, maybe you could tell me how large a percentage of Islam these terrorists comprise.

Basically, Islam in general doesn't hold to the tenets thsse terrorists espouse. I've mentioned a few times that history contradicts the view of Islam as being hostile toward Christianity and Judaism. Basically, these terrorists are using parts of the Koran to support their purposes, just as Christians use parts of the Bible to support their view of Christianity, and we have a multitude of views that are entirely different and you couldn't tell that it's the same religion.

I think what we need is to recognize those who truly are threatening us, instead of piling an entire group into that basket -- we confuse the issue and miss more perpetrators when we stereotype a group and then we deal quite ineffectively with the real problem.

Blanket condemnation does not stave off hostile actions, but enrages those who would not be hostile and results in more hostile actions -- and in inaction by those who would be our allies.
