Re:
They are so far in the hole that when they get the billions or so the first of the year it doesn't even help. It is because they have made it so easy for young people to get . Because the state is making so much on the meth clinics and Doctors feeding off of the patents that is like a never ending patent, the meth clinics are the biggest thing going around here. no one will ever be thrown out. I think they get around 165.00 a dose from the goverment, the person pays 12.00 . they have hundreds of people at the door at 4:00 AM . I think we have three or four now. It is all about the money, no one cares as long as they get theirs.

Re:
Here, I believe it depends on the person. The work, or the amount of SS full benefits they had earned, I know you have read a lot of my blogs. If you look back at them .It is different for all. The mother in law I spoke of that spent her last days in therapy, because she was on SS and her check was only 340.00. She wasn't given that option, because she would have cost the goverment. 660.00 and the SSI card, food stamps.  that is a lot better card than just the SS card alone. I know that doesn't make sense , and it is not fair at all. The fact is , You are better off in the long run, if you had not worked. They agreed to let her have two weeks of therapy after going home from the hospital . because she was in such pain and her sons didn't know what to do and how to care for her. they knew she had cancer. it was not a fracture, possible fracture, they gave her an exray, because she was in such pain. her stomach looked as though she was giving birth, still they put her through two weeks of hell. she suffered daily, hoping that she would soon be back home with her grandbaby. I insisted they make the Dr give her an MRI before she was real;eased. it took three day's and everyone trying to pass the order from one to the other. they finally did what they do. when the SS card will not pay for a test, They had a women from the SS office come to the hospital and she signed her up for SSI and then the MRI was ordered. She went home. That night I taked to her , she said she was so happy to be home, and she had took a few steps . She had lived with her son and his little boys for years. she was so happy. That night a call came in from the hospital. Her son had to tell her that She was dying. Hospice would be there the next day. she screamed and cried I'm scared , I don't want to die. she didn't last two weeks. . It is not black and white. It is the best is for the budget. would have received more money if she was on SSI. even though she was disabled. It would have benefitted her much more if she could have drawn disability. 660.00 AS for my father -law he was going from around three hundred and so ,to twelve hundred. Difference that could have been better for him. However look at the cost of care that was ordered for him. they fixed him before he made his appointment. His long awaited check, went from 1240.00 gov took some for back taxes and his wife back child support he didn't owe, he now gets 323.00 . not even enough to pay for his medication. They could not make it if I didn't let them live a mobile home and help them. I know in my heart, I am going to lose my mother this year. I  feel so attacked . It is like watching a movie from another Country. watching my family being put in the ground over and over, It is like a dream . I walk around shaking my head at what has happened to my family. If It wasn't for blogit I would not have anyone to talk to . My kids have no idea that they are in danger . That is the one good thing about being mentally impaired . everything is beautiful in there eyes.

Perhaps the rules have changed, but I went through the process and it was a two year wait for medicare! I have full benefits from SS now! I believe that if one is truly disabled and cannot work they would be moved quickly from SSI to SS! At least that was the road I traveled! I paid into the system for forty years and am now comfortable enough! I was always under the impression that SSI was a temporary help to folks who were unable to work but not classified as totally disabled! I do not have a permanent disability classification and I get checked by their chosen psychiatrist to determine my eligibility! It is a tough time for everyone and those who are truly disabled should not have to worry, they are collecting the benefits they paid for to begin with! I suppose it can be a snake pit for some, though! I am just relieved that I have an income and a place to live that is comfortable, but I do know that it can be taken away in the blink of an eye and it could become catastrophic for me! Life is a journey! I wish you the very best! I believe the reason the SSI would be cut is that it comes out of the US Treasury and it is a line item that can be easily eliminated! It was never intended to be an income for folks but a supplement! Supplements are the first things to go in my humble opinion! Also, I was under the impression that when a person applied for SSI, they were making application for SS; now I feel like it could be a donut hole! No winning this thing! Have as good an evening as you possibly can!  sam
