Very well stated. I've never seen you as prejudice. I think anytime we
expose an organization, a group, a religion or whatever, we tend to be categorized. Having grown up Catholic, I have a propensity against the organization itself, but believe among them are very sweet and good people.

This is a very good post and is very timely to remind us why you have been, are, and shall continue to write about this subject.  Reading along, it made me think of the movie Forrest Gump when everyone kept wanting to know why he was running.  LOL.   He ran for a long, long time.  One day he had enough and he stopped running right there and then.  LOL.

I thought your explanation was very good, too! I never allowed my sons to be altar servers when they were growing up even though I was great friends with our priest for fear that they would be molested! No wonder I left the Church so easily! Now, quite off the subject, the Boy Scouts of America is dealing with a cover up as well! I truly have no use for anyone who molests children, they are vile! Shelly

Naut my friend I enjoy your academic writing. I don't always comment

or I leave something silly but I appreciate your research, your arguments your research and reSources and references....... so well documented. I would have to be very precise if you were marking my assignement. LOL

Of course, all moral,  decent family people who love and protect their children are aghast at what is being uncovered in the Catholic Church. But so are we appalled at the Internet scams that prey on children, the coaches, the teachers the boy Scout leaders, the Uncles, the business men who fly to the Phillipines ...I agree with you this is an unnacceptable issue that crosses many societies and communities and is not confined to a religious rite or teaching,    Keep upthe writing.
