I agree whole-heartedly, my friend. He gives us both for our constant learning. And we can be grateful in all things.

Aba, this is profound --- and I would and will 'meditate' on your meaning.  Ely

There is nothing that God is not, because He is The All; the negative Power, thus, can not be excluded. And as you rightly say "Good and bad are subject to individual judgment". I may be partial to God's judgment dividing it as good and bad, but His judgment is integrated ~ that is good for some, bad for others. Ah yes, most definitely He is Love, from his love comes only good but man often conceive it in the very opposite, hate. You cannot hate somebody unless you love him first. Thank you so much for your visit and for the comment. This one was good.

Good and bad are subject to individual judgment, but I believe God is
Love and all things that come of love are for my good, despite them appearing as not so good at times.

I knew this one would be somewhat controversial for many, especially for those who read the scriptures. As I answered to Sinome, my way of personifying God is the Creative Energy that makes, sustains and even destroys His own Creation. This is difficult to conceptualize as to how one can destroy one's own creation? Well, man can't, God can and He does, to create anew, in a different form. From man's point of view destruction cannot be God's work. Without disagreeing, I think no point of view can be brought to light in clarity. If, supposing, the God of good were to be all-powerful, then why should He not have power over Evil which. to our ways of thinkng is presided over by the Devil. If He is not the be-all and the end-all of all that is, then such a God will be meaningless ... that's what I intended conveying in this poem. I am glad you put of point of view across and I thank you for this, Chuck.

Must have been one of those mellifluous laughs of yours, I could almost hear . Honest, I have nothing there. To answer that lovely question from you ~ "how do we recognize him??" Everything that you see around is God, He is invisible because we do not have enough sensitivity to appreciate His beauty in the form of a tree, or rock, or a river. A small secret, if one can start seeing the opulence in Nature, then God is not any the different. Thank you Shobs for your participation. Good luck with your work, you will manage. I might not be able to write for a while after maybe another a week or so, but let's see.

Man can be puzzled or mistrusted with another man, but not with the Creator of the earth and the universe. I have to disagree with you on this one. Thanks for sharing. Regards, Chuck.

Dear Sinome
Disagreements, healthy discussions, are perfectly in order, and are solicited. That is why I bracketed  .. 'questions welcome'. Let us put it this way that I am indeed personifying G-d but in a slightly different way: I am personifying the Supreme Power of God, that Power, which governs and sustains the whole of universe/ and also universes, One that IS, one without a second. Now see how the entire gestalt changes: Power is Power, it does not discriminate and is inclusive of both constuctive and destructive powers, for example, death and birth, evil or virtue, good or bad. If we consider that Power to be G-d, then He can not exist singly, that is presiding only over the good and not over the bad ... in that case, He is Not All-Powerful. This also cannot be accepted. Only the whole can be inclusive of both (if not, then the Devil who presides over Evil, will be rendered the more powerful than G-d who presides over good). Loved your query and hope it has made the concept somewhat clear. Thank you Marta, so very much for putting your thoughts so honestly. xoxoxo

Thank you sir, yes, that's the right word - 'paradox'. There is nothing higher than faith in the ultimate count when it comes to spirituality. Understanding comes from 'experiencing' (if I may use the word), and having experienced, faith is something that helplessly follows, otherwise doubt, lack of faith, kills all. But there are natural devotees too, they have no "I" feeling as such. They attain, easily. Loved this participation of yours.

It is said that the ways of God are inscrutable, and even if we question we do not find a satisfactory answer; the answer is a mystery, not easily understood rather more disturbing, but still there are to be no palliatives in the knowledge of God for one for whom it is matter of life and death to know. They come to understand . Experience qualifies and clarifies If I accept that my present bad is God's doing for my future and greater good, then this acceptance changes the whole gestalt, and the beauty is that it happens. That is passing God's test. Your answer is so very close  . Thank you so much. Hope you are well.

An interesting paradox. It takes faith to understand it. CBC–A, Bill’s RLJst

Thought provoking indeed :-),  but I must disagree.  I feel that you are personifying "G-d", thinking of Him as if He were human...flawed as we are.   If you accept that there is a G-d in the first place, then you must trust him... how could you not?  He is G-d!  He knows best... and how can He be evil?  It is we that are good and evil because we are not perfect.  G-d is perfect because if He weren't He would not be G-d :-) I know is kind of a silly logic but it is what it is  loll...  Great post! xoxoxo
