I couldn't agree more with you, Rocking. I hate so-called sports hunting with a passion. But to allow such precious animals to die in such a cruel, needless fashion simply because they claim not to have been able to afford their upkeep?
These are the times when words fail me.

This is just horrendous. I can't bear seeing tv programmes where animals are hunted, either legally or illegally. I once saw a pheasant shot - it dropped from the sky like a stone. I don't know how that can be called sport.
