Naut, I think there are many who speak up and some who are silenced
However, I think a) the definition of what a moderate muslim is, unclear.
http://www.danielpipes.org/2226/identifying-moderate-muslims this article looks at difference to how the west defines moderate muslim and how muslims themselves define it, and b) call me naive if you wish but it seems to apply an impossible expectation for such a diverse group of people to rise as one. For example how is someone who lives a peaceful family village life in Turkey for example meant to think the same, and stand-up alongside someone who lives in America or Canada, or someone in Indonesia? Their realities are surely very different. It just seems amorphous to me even as a description.

He makes a lot of sense in that we are picking and choosing what we protest against or how we apply it to the rest of the world.
