Yeah, culturally in the U.S. we think nothing of it. In fact, some of us much prefer it. Interesting the cultural differences we are exposed to on Blogit.

It is strange how different people look at things differently.
I have always enjoyed, now and then, eating out alone. My life has been so full of people and socializing and entertaining that I love the opportunity to just be alone and quiet. But, when I want that the most, it seems that an all too friendly waiter/waitress assumes that I am lonely and feel a need to take care of me and socialize too much.
