I'm on with Kabu for this one: USSR was full of drug-induced performances. Now, it's just poor "little Russia" without all of its satellites. Tough luck! We won! and we're only 30something-millions! GO!CANADA!GO! (I know, I know, it's not Canadian like to cheer like that....Tant pis!(French for "Just too bad!")

Sportsmanship was never a part of their concept of the games anyway
Remember the East German swimmers ....most of whom died from steroid induced heart attacks back in the 1970's.

Is that sportsmanlike?
I'm thinkin' that the Russian govt., like others, is run by people who aren't focused on managing the administrative ebb and flow, but on unrelated weirdness.
