Quite right Pat. It is up to us; if it wasn't, I'd be a beetle browed, morose, chin jutting Scotsman without a.....'what was that Ell?'

I'm with you, Pat. Happiness is a choice, and I choose it, as well. xoox

Pat
I read the previous post before this one, and I would not have thought that 'the old bird' really affected your self-esteem.
As I have mentioned before, through your writing about her I have developed a fondness for the old lady, her spunk and feistiness, but of course I realize that she can be 'difficult'. In some way she may be coming full circle: her unreasonableness and self-centeredness strikes me as almost child-like. But maybe the vinegar in her helps keep her young!

I am glad ...nay thrilled that you can be this way with her. I thought she
might be a drag but I should have known that she couldn't really touch you. Good for you such a positive attitude.

drain my self-esteem
Thanks for those words, Pat. There've been many times when people have dumped their misery near me but I choose to sidestep it and like you, see the beauty and positive.

She is just another character for another story...
which you will tell with your usual style, compassion and verve!
