Re:After the Recent Blizzard
I always look forward to your comments - that connection between the snow chains and Santa Claus is priceless! Those word combos fascinate me - some sound forced, but the ones that work surprise like a good metaphor! And deliberately avoiding the da-dum-da-dum da-dum rhythm can make a lumpy, vigorous, driving beat all its own.

I love the wordcombo's that you've used - your poetry is read aloud by me - and this one - as many of yours has been read more than twice - snowchains is something I've not heard of since my early childhood. I live in Pennsylvania as a youngster for about 5 years and the first time I heard the sound of snowchains I thought it was Santa claus and the reindeers

Re: and the poem is wonderful.
I'm experimenting: use busted rhythm and compound words - and don't say anything the normal way - it gives my thesaurus a real workout.
