I felt like that at forty, Hazel. It's never as bad after that one big birthday is out of the way. After that, they get smaller and smaller. I'm looking forward to the time when I can boast, "Do you know how old I am?" !!

Happy Birthday to you...Happy birthday to you....
and my birthday is coming up too, in seven days.....so I will tell you what my kids told me on my 40th b=day when i cried and cried about how I can't believe someone young like me is already that old. This is how the card read.
BE HAPPY THAT YOU ARE 40 BECAUSE IN TEN YEARS YOU WILL WISH YOU WERE....I wasnt happy and on my 40th b-day I went over the cliff. :)

Hazel
This 'aging' business has nothing to do with 'years'. If you feel like 25, that's what you are - and if the years still bother you, use a different calendar! Where each year had 3650 days - in which case you'd turn just about
five. and you might want to start thinking about
school...

It's acomin' one day for me too..:)
Sooner than I'd like, but considering the alternative, lol....

well, 60 is the new 40 supposedly so you'll only be turning 30 in theory, ya youngster! Seriously, I believe age is only a number..hopefully, lol. Early Happy B-Day Wishes and Welcome Back, Hazel!

Well,
Croak isn't a very pleasant term. How about ''dropping dead?'' Maybe ''biting the dust?''
Is there a term that you prefer in reference to you demise?
Dropping Dead is by far my favorite.

When writing a blog about growing older, NEVER use the word, CROAK!
Chrisket,
Even though I have been telling people that I am a geezer for a couple of years now, because I took social security benefits at the age of 62. My next birthday will be the the really BIG one, the dreaded 65th! That will make it official!
Hand me my shawl, will you Sweety? Drape it over my shoulders will ya, it is hard for me to raise my arms up high enough. And can you give my rocking chair a little push, too? It'll feel a bit like those old days of my youth, when I could make it move, all by myself. My dad used to tell me that getting old isn't for sissies, and I thought he was just kidding!

Wow! You're approaching Goddess Status!
I once thought 50 was as old as you could get and still find your front door. Turns out, the 50s was my best decade. I got my BA degree, got promoted to the professional staff and a 40% pay hike, the last two kids went off to college and I could run around with my buddies and dance and date... I was free! So you can look forward to a decade of being wiser than you ever hoped to be, still young enough to raise a little heck, old enough to be taken seriously, and don't forget to dance!

Your most critical statement was........
"I can't believe I am soon to be 50 when I feel like I'm 25 in my head.. lol" this is very important....age is a state of mind! Don't ever let anyone discourage your attitude with their negativity!
