This is an excellent post, very clearly defined as to the weakness of both our governments. As for more than one partner: I don't share my toothbrush and my spouse is far more valuable than my toothbrush. It is an insane idea from any point of view.

Like Former says, polygamy is found here in the US as well... I believe it is the individual's choice whether a man wants to have more than one wife or if a woman wants to share her husband with others. It comes down to the fact that government can not legislate morality... it can try ... but ultimately a moral choice is by definition a personal one. But I know what you mean... our openmindeness will be our damnation. Communists used to say that Capitalism had within itself the seeds of its own destruction... so I guess the islamic terrorists are not the first ones to use our ways against us :-) Great post Naut. xoxoxo

Pretty interesting about what is going on in Canada. I know in the U.S. that Islamic polygamy is not much of an issue. Certain strans of Mormons (Latter-Day Saints) practice it a lot in the state of Utah along with a few compounds spread across different western states.
