$ Your poem strikes a vivid description of the night. And it conjures up romantic imagery with the traditional British grandfather clock, striking his bell. I used to wake up in the same position in which I hit the bed - eight hours later. Not any more. Strange to tell, I can bore myself to sleep these days if just I re-tell to myself in excruciating detail what went on today. Egad, what a thought!
