It isn't over with.
Mr. Obama is being held to a standard higher than warranted -- this is an economic situation that no one could turn around in the year just passed and deceptiveness of conservatives and Republicans make it seem like he should have been able to bring prosperity with a snap of his fingers -- or at least allege that they could have done much better when it was conservative policies that brought this on us in the first place.
Now, we are talking about the middle of this past year, when there was little, if anything to show for the stimulus package, which was backed by most economists (who, incidentally, thought NOT ENOUGH money was put into it). Now, though, the rise in unemployment has slowed, other ecnomic indicators are up, jobs are indeed being created and people are being hired back.
I would think that the polls will take a positive turn this year and Mr. Obama's popularity rise.
I hope so for the sake of this nation.
I hope conservatism and the Republican Party become just a chapter in the history books -- the sooner, the better.
