OOH I remember relatives in Australia had terrible trouble with Orange and
it cost hundreds of dollars when one of them lost a phone...insured they had been assured.

I bet if you threaten them with legal action, they'll back off.  Sometimes you need to fight bully with bully.  You weren't able to get service, therefore they renegged on THEIR contract to provide you with said service.  THEY should be paying YOU!!!  Mal

Y In order to cancel my old phone contract I had to guess a trivia question. I forgot which one of my favorite television shows was the one that I typed for my secret answer before. Finally after explaining my situation with diabetes in the past and the inconvenience they cancelled it love. BC-A, Bill’s RLJst

Tsk, tsk, tsk. I went through that with my Telus recently and I'm now on a pay-as-you-go system and make very few calls.

I can't blame you for that response. Ridiculous it is all the things phone companies make people go through in terms of cost and service. Hope you didn't break the phone when you slammed it down.

I hear you loud and clear! I got caught up in the mortgage mess in the States and I had to sell my house for a huge loss! I needed to terminate my service and I had a basketball package. They would not let me transfer the package to my brother's account even though I had set the account up for it, because the terms and conditions were for that account and not extenuating circumstances were covered under the terms and conditions. I know I said it twice in one sentence but they can't say a sentence for saying that over and over, it fells like a dagger in the back! So I had to pay for a package I never saw, due to terms and conditions, lol! I am sorry but I know this one with you. I was a customer for 8 years. lol on them, I don't give my money any of them now! I hung up, too! sam

I was having lunch with my daughters today and we were discussing the same thing, I dont know if you have tmobile or verizon there but we had a debate who provided the best service.  When we lived in the other house it depended on what room you were in for the one company now the opposite company works better over here, go figure

Sad for your frustration --- I just dealt with my carrier 2 nights ago - I was shocked at the size of my bill - as they said I went over my plan minutes.  I simply went to the source - called up and took the rehearsed, scripted drivel for so long then finally said in a very firm voice, "Okay now...I've had enough of this poppycock - Listen to me" and I went on and on - not missing a beat, not taking a breath and by the time I finished - they had listened apparently... either that or the poor guy wanted to get me off his back and he credited me --- but I was also introduced to 'another' plan and that's exactly how they enter in.  I tell you it's maddening - and Virgin was a good phone for me - I used them for a while.  Let us know how you fare ~ Elyse

I know the feeling
We had a terrible signal at the last house but much better here. Because of my business I wanted to transfer from Vodafone to BT (who have been surprisingly good!). Vodafone issued three messages and incorrect PAC codes before they got it right. I wonder if they rely on people just paying their unjustifiably high amounts or expect people to just give up and stay?

I had some phone trouble myself not long ago.  I know how frustrating it can be.  I gave up on trying to get a credit for half-a month without a land-line phone just because I can't stand all that rigamarole you have to go through.
