Re: Elyse
I am in the mid-west part of the state, on the Alabama border. I understand there was some snow as far south as Florida. I do prefer our weather for every season except summer. The humidity in summer makes it difficult to breathe when the temp climbs above 90! However, we can travel about 300 miles north and be in the Smoky Mountains or 300 miles or so to the south and enjoy the beaches of the Florida panhandle.

I think it is so wonderful that folks who do not experience a lot of snow have come to embrace it for the most part and delight in the children playing as well! Be safe and stay warm! sam

I appreciate your visit to my blog --- we had about 6 inches fall...that was a lot for E. Texas.  What part of Georgia do you live in?  I think the dusting and the small amounts are lovely but, as you I do prefer the southern clime.  It is amazing to me how many businesses closed yesterday due to our snowfall - and I would imagine their businesses did suffer.  However, we had some electrical black outs here to add to this.  Stay warm and enjoy the beauty.  Elyse

My sister in Baltimore suburbs is still snowbound and has not been to work for more than a week.  I was horrified by reading in the news about the mother in the south sliding off of the road and ending up in a pond where her children drowned yesterday.
